When the world holds its breath for a piece of technology

Is it real?

As most people in the tech world know, every year Apple puts on their Worldwide Developer Conference.  And every year, like clockwork, the rumor mills start up.  Everyone starts talking about what’s going to be revealed, what’s going to be new, and what kind of exciting new thing is Apple going to do this year.  This year though, all eyes are on the iPhone.  Last year at WWDC, Apple unveiled the current generation iPhone.  Even though it wouldn’t be released until a few months later, it was the talk of the town.  It’s happening again, and this year, we’ve got a litany of new specs and features that are tantalizing us.  Of course, it’s pretty easy to imagine that they will include 3G support, but there’s other things that are now starting to seem more plausible.

3G
GPS
Better battery life
Front-facing camera for over-the-air video iChat

In any case, when Monday rolls around and Apple unveils the next generation iPhone, for us geeks out there, it will very literally be the second coming.
