Wait, Yahoo has a core business?

Here’s a quote by Yahoo’s new CEO, Scott Thompson in a letter to their employees on the day of 2,000 layoffs:

“Today we are restructuring Yahoo! to give ourselves the opportunity to compete and win in our core business.”

Am I the only one surprised to find out that Yahoo has a “core” business?

Seeing as how Circa is in the news world, we decided to put time zone clocks on the wall. No one said they needed to be real places. The only requirement of our clock scheme was that the fictional destination needed to have a prominent newspaper. The places are as follows: Hill Valley (Back to the Future), Caprica City (Battlestar Galactica), Metropolis (Superman), Arkham (H.P. Lovecraft), Rapture (Bioshock), and “Somewhere” (permanently set to 5pm).
