The Sad State of the Startup Pitch by Bryce Roberts
“in all of my 11 years as a VC, I’d argue we’re at the low watermark for startup pitches”
Bryce Roberts tells it like it is. I’m hearing this so much from so many people: that so many new and returning entrepreneurs are half-assing their pitches to VCs. This seems so counterintuitive to me as I see a VC pitch as a pretty damn good barometer for how one sees their own startup.
My advice to entrepreneurs: put together a pitch that respects your company and the person you’re pitching to. If you struggle to put together the pitch, the maybe you should reconsider whether or not you should be pitching someone with it.
